The rector of Astrakhan State University initiated a meeting with the employees where he presented a plan for achieving a target model of the university development.
As a reminder, on September 23 it was announced that ASU entered Priority 2030 Program. The top managers of the university organize meetings with the colleagues and present to them a university policy within the development strategy for the next 10 years in various fields of work.
Previously, the rector of the university Konstantin Markelov informed the employees about the perspective of reshaping the educational and scientific ASU systems, possible collaborations with Russian and foreign partners, the creation of Caspian Open University ready to develop new ideas and technologies as well as to create scientific developments at the request of businesses and to become a comfortable environment for students and young researchers.
“As I have said many times, universities have the third mission. The third mission of Astrakhan State University is to assist in increasing the economic power of Russia and its international influence on the Caspian region, in developing the human and technical potential of the Astrakhan region as a geostrategic territory of the Russian part of the Caspian region. Our mission also includes generating and transferring of scientific knowledge and technologies, preserving and enlarging the spiritual values and traditions by integrating the processes of reproduction of new scientific knowledge, elite human resources and innovations. Participation in the Priority 2030 program will let achieve this, and will help ASU become a region-shaping university”, – Konstantin Markelov said.
In his speech, the rector also noted the necessity for all the employees to take part in the implementation of the projects. According to the rector, each problem should not be a problem of one person and everyone should contribute to the improvement of the university.
On October 2-3 there will held a strategic session where the questions like what improvements and transformations are expected in the nearest 10 years and what is necessary to do to achieve success will be discussed.
