Concept of 2022 Caspian Region Forum Has Been Defined

An exptended meeting of the organizing committee of forum “Caspian Region 2022: Sustainable Development Trajectories”, a major international event, was held in the Administration of the Governor of Astrakhan Region. The main speaker was ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov.

Konstantin Markelov reminded the audience about the tradition of holding Caspian scientific, educational and technological forums and conferences in Astrakhan Region. Last year, forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories” brought together more than a thousand participants, from students to prominent scientists, rectors of universities, industry representatives and managers. Its main result was to attract the attention of the authorities and the scientific community of the country to the interests, tasks and research of the Caspian macroregion.

The 2022 event is scheduled for May 22-24. The first day of the forum will be for the youth: participants will discuss the development of youth policy in the Caspian region, involvement of students to science and retention of talented university graduates in the region, and will also receive information about the projects of the Agency for Youth Affairs, the Russian Union of Youth, autonomous non-profit organization “Russia — a Country of Opportunities” and the Knowledge Russian Society. The first day will end with a big concert on the Volga embankment with the participation of students and youth of the region.

A rich business programme awaits the forum participants over the next two days. It will include plenary session “New Opportunities and Priorities for Sustainable Development of the Caspian Region”, a meeting of the presidents of the Academies of Sciences and Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian countries, a meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Universities of Southern Russia with the participation of the heads of the country’s leading universities, the 1st international exhibition “Educational Space of Caspian Countries», panel discussions on the topic “Digitalization of Education” and on the anchor topics of the Priority 2030 development programme of ASU, meetings of the Association for the Promotion of Multilateral Cooperation in Science and Education in the Black Sea Region, the Transport & Logistics Consortium of Caspian Higher Educational Institutions, Caspian Discussion Club , as well as the 2nd Guzhvin Readings and a lot more.

Members of the Organizing Committee, chaired by Vice Governor of Astrakhan Region Oleg Knyazev, approved the concept of the 2nd international scientific forum “Caspian Region 2022: Sustainable Development Trajectories” and promised ASU to support the university in solving organizational issues, informing the media and attracting business partners.
