ASU Cooperation with DNR and LNR Universities Is Developing Progressively

At a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Southern Russia, Konstantin Markelov presented a report on the cooperation of Astrakhan State University with educational organizations of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.

At the end of March 2022, the ASU rector personally visited the LNR at the invitation of Viktor Vodolatsky, a member of the ASU Board of Trustees and a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. During this trip, Konstantin Markelov held a number of working meetings with the leadership of the republic, representatives of education and science.

Astrakhan State University is going to develop network and joint educational programmes, as well as student and teaching academic mobility programmes.

An online welcome day was held on April 3, 2022 for prospective applicants and representatives of educational organizations of the DNR and LNR; the audience learned about the programmes offered by Astrakhan State University and the admission prospects. Besides, now colleagues from the Donbass State Technical Institute have access to the ASU electronic library system.

In the field of scientific policy, Astrakhan State University considers it necessary to participate in joint scientific programmes and projects.

Astrakhan State University is actively collaborating with partner universities from the LNR and DNR to develop cooperation in the field of youth policy, including in mentoring, volunteering, and the work of adaptation centers.

The Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Southern Russia supported the ASU initiatives and included them in the draft decision of the meeting to form a common roadmap.
